Datalogic Quickscan handheld scanner

Specially developed for point-of-sale (POS) applications, the new QuickScan imager features an innovative illumination and aiming system. This reduces visual stress for the user even on scan-intensive workdays. It is based on a soft, dark red illumination, and two blue LED triangles, for marking the target barcode. The result is a precise targeting system that is more comfortable for the user´s eyes while increasing efficiency. In addition, the scanner features Datalogic´s patented "Green Spot" technology, which indicates successful code capture via a green dot on the code.

The linear code still plays a dominant role even in a world where 2D codes are on the rise. Long barcodes, for example, are still used in many application areas. Traditional codes can be found, for example, on utility bills, in document processing and also in packaging. These long codes are a real challenge for true area imagers due to their shorter field of view and shallower depth of field.
